David Cameron's new chief spin doctor runs a legal tax "avoidance" scheme to manage the £150,000-a-year earnings of his television presenter wife.
I can't say I'm surprised. Being a tax dodger, or even better a crook, is virtually a requirement for membership of the UK Tory government. If I were working for the BBC, I would say good riddance!
Indeed, friends who work for the BBC tell me that "good riddance" were the two words most frequently heard in the World Service canteen in response to Oliver's departure for No.10 Downing Street. Other epithets included "pompous git", "slimy creep" and "toad".
And its gets worse. I am told that Oliver would "engage only with people he thought would advance his career and ignore everyone else".
Sounds like a great guy – and the perfect company for David Cameron and Nick "The Joke" Clegg. Now Cameron can boast two fags.
